Need to Know

I'm new to Movement Ecology PR. What are my first steps?

Welcome! You have options here. Link through the Scheduler Tab or download our GloFox Class APP via your App store on your mobile phone to register in advance and come 10 minutes early to receive a warming tour of the studio.

If you're signed-up for the new student special (14 days for $30), you are also able to have a friend join you for free! Each friend new to the studio is allowed one free visit during your special. If they like the class, we encourage them to sign up for their own special to try the studio for a full two weeks.

What is you late policy?

We lock the doors at class start time. We will not open after they are locked, so please be on time ( why not be 10 minutes early?). We have a 24-hour cancelation policy. If you come across unforeseeable circumstances, please contact us.

What should I bring to class?

We recommend that you bring your own mat, towel, water and bottle. For travelers, the studio has mats and towels for rent, and bottled water for sale.

Where should I park?

Parking is available near the entrance to the studio, which is under the Movement Ecology sign facing Belt Road. Sometimes this parking lot is full. Additional parking can be found directly in front of the Credit Union and CESCO upon first entering as well as the surrounding streets.

Are classes in English or Spanish?

Although we are working toward adding classes in Spanish, all classes are currently taught in English (and the universal language of movement). We are committed to building an inclusive space. Please understand that this will take time. However, in most kids jiu jitsu programs we have multiple bilingual coaches. Additionally, we have a bilingual yoga instructor as well.

Do you have showers?

We do not have showers. You will find two large bathrooms to change if needed that are filled with most essential toiletries.

What are the temperatures for heated and non-heated classes?

Movement Ecology Studio is a brick-and-mortar studio experience. Classes are non-heated with good air flow and set to a comfortable temperature appropriate for rolling on the mats for Jiu Jitsu and flowing through a moderately intense Vinyasa.

I am new to Yoga. Where do I begin?

If you are brand new to Yoga we recommend that you start with a free one-on-one session with Kili@movementecology.com to set you up for success and address any concerns or fears you may have (this is also a great way to refine your skills). If this is not an option, start with our Yoga/Pilates intro class. No matter what class you drop in, our coaches are trained and experienced to support all students and skill levels.

I am new to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Where do I begin?

We recommend that you start by contacting coach Robert via email at robert@movementecologypr.com to schedule an assessment of your abilities, answer questions and concerns, and schedule your Intro to Jiu Jitsu session.

Do you offer a sliding scale or any scholarships?

We DO offer limited sliding scale, scholarships or free training

Please inquire by emailing Robert@movementecology.com

How old do you have to be to attend classes?

We ask that clients be at least 16 years old to attend adult classes. We also ask that you consider maturity and health when deciding whether you or your child should attend. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis. This excludes our kids jiu jitsu programs which start at age 3.

How does payment work for live streaming?

You will be able to use your memberships, class cards and drop-ins for live-streamed classes, just as you would if coming to class on any normal day.

How do I cancel my membership?

Auto-debit memberships require a written 30-day notice of cancellation prior to the date of the next scheduled withdrawal. You can cancel your membership by emailing Robert@movementecology.com.
